A K-8 teacher assistant in Osceola County has been arrested after she had sex with a 16-year-old boy, deputies said.

Miralys Agosto, who worked at Westside K-8 school, is accused of having two sexual encounters with a 16-year-old seventh grade ESE student, deputies said.

The student told investigators the sexual acts happened in Agosto’s vehicle since April 26, deputies said.

During questioning with investigators Tuesday, Agosto admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship, deputies said.

Agosto faces charges of sexual battery by person in custodial authority with a victim younger than 18.

Agosto resigned from her position at the school Monday, deputies said.

A spokesperson for the Osceola County School District said Agosto was a teacher paraprofessional with the school since Dec. 12, 2017.

Anyone with information regarding Agosto is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 407-348-2222 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).

Teacher Gets 4 Years PROBATION for Sex With Student!

BANNING (CNS) – A Beaumont High School teacher pleaded guilty today to having sex with one of her male students and was immediately sentenced to four years probation. Samantha Lee Ciotta, 32, of Banning, pleaded guilty to three felony counts of unlawful intercourse with a minor, while a count of oral copulation of a child was dismissed.

Her probation terms include a protective order prohibiting all contact with the student for the next 10 years. Ciotta, an English teacher at Beaumont High, was arrested last September, three months after her relationship with the student, then 16, came to light. She was released on a $150,000 bond the following day and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of her case.

According to an arrest warrant declaration, a relative of the teen texted the boy to ask if swirling rumors about him and Ciotta were true. The relative received replies that appeared to be suspicious, and they were later determined to have been sent by Ciotta’s husband, according to the court document.

It was unclear how Ciotta’s husband obtained the victim’s phone, but he admitted sending the messages to the victim’s relative because he suspected his wife was having an affair with the student and wanted to find out more, according to the document. The boy told police he had sex with Ciotta on numerous occasions, but could not remember the exact number of times because he was usually intoxicated during their meetings, according to the declaration.

He initially covered for her but later decided to stop lying when Ciotta had sex with his 19-year-old friend, the declaration alleges. The mother of two previously held a teaching position at La Quinta High School and was recently hired by the Beaumont Unified School District.

The guilty plea follows a lawsuit filed by the victim last week against the Beaumont Unified School District, alleging that while the sexual abuse was occurring, his guardian and at least one other teacher reported their concerns to school administrators, but nothing was done.

The boy’s attorneys contend that “school administrators were aware of numerous red flags showing that the relationship between Ms. Ciotta and our client was becoming inappropriate.”

Mom defends teacher who had sex with her daughter, 14!

(Laredo Morning Times) The mother of a middle school student who had a sexual relationship with a former United ISD teacher in 2015 testified on Wednesday at the man’s sentencing hearing, saying that he was “almost like a son” and that she did not want him to go to prison.

Luis Enrique Mercado, 36, pleaded guilty to indecency with a child by exposure, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Mercado was accused of committing a host of sexual offenses against a then-14-year-old student.

The Webb County District Attorney’s Office agreed to dismiss the remaining charges on Mercado’s 22-count grand jury indictment, including nine counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, five counts of improper relationship between an educator and a student, four counts of sexual assault of a child, two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of indecency with a child by exposure.

Report: Students call gifts, erotic photo from ex-teacher weird!

Jessica Langford

Students interviewed about a former Miamisburg teacher convicted last month of sex crimes with a minor said they felt uncomfortable with her providing them gifts and showing them an erotic photo, Miami Twp. police records show.

Students told police last year that Jessica Langford gave them a gift card, shoes and an iPhone while providing “a more casual atmosphere” in her middle school classroom that included showing students a photo of she and her husband having oral sex, according to police records.

One 14-year-old said he felt weird after he said Langford gave him an iPhone, which he later returned, according to the police report. Another 14-year-old said seeing the photo of the teacher and her husband was awkward, the report indicates.

This news organization obtained the Miami Twp. police records using Ohio’s public records laws. The police report does not specifically quote students, but paraphrases their comments.

The report was not introduced as evidence at Langford’s trial last month, though some information included in it is consistent with testimony given by Langford’s teen accuser and the student’s father.

A Montgomery County jury convicted Langford, 32, of Centerville, on April 13 of three counts of sexual battery and three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. She is scheduled to be sentenced May 14.

Those charges were not connected with the photo two 14-year-old students described in the Miami Twp. police report.

Langford’s defense attorney, Lawrence Greger, declined to comment on the police report.

Teacher faces deportation after she groomed male student for sex !

Adelaide: A former Adelaide private school teacher who groomed one of her male students for sex could be deported after being given a suspended jail sentence.

In the South Australian District Court on Monday, Bettina Schmoock was jailed for 22 months with a non-parole period of 11 months.

However both terms were suspended with the 42-year-old placed on a three-year good behaviour bond.

In sentencing submissions last week the court was told while no sexual activity ever took place, Schmoock had booked a cottage for an encounter with the boy and that her actions could not be considered “mere fantasy”.

Defence counsel said she had been affected by a four-month-long hypomanic episode, as part of her undiagnosed bipolar disorder, at the time of the offending.

In sentencing, Judge Gordon Barrett said he took into account Schmoock’s mental health at the time and that she was unlikely to be able to teach again.

He said he also gave some weight to the apprehension and anxiety caused by her possible deportation with the mother of two not being an Australian citizen.

But he said it would be wrong for him to speculate on the likelihood of her being returned to her native Germany.

A Mississippi teacher is being sought Tuesday by police who say she ran off with a teen boy — just weeks after she was arrested for alleged sexual misconduct with a student.

Oscar O’Neal, 16, was reported missing by his mother Monday and was last seen around 1 a.m. at his home in Hattiesburg, police said. There is an active arrest warrant out for Nicole Jackson, a 30-year-old former teacher at the Earl Travillion Attendance Center who previously was arrested and charged with sexual battery by a person in a position of trust or authority.

“If u see my son please contact me or my wife Lisa Oneal. We got the police involved his nickname is Lil Pooh but his real name is Oscar Oneal missing….,” read a post Monday on a Facebook page purportedly belonging to the teen’s father.

Another Facebook page believed to belong to Jackson says she is married. The age of consent in Mississippi is 16.

Hattiesburg police had been investigating Jackson since mid-March after they received a tip alleging she was having an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to WDAM. She was taken to the Forrest County Jail on April 10 and later released on $10,000 bond.

Police believe the pair could be in a dark blue Chevy Impala with the Mississippi license plate FRA-4454.

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga.– Authorities in northwest Georgia are investigating after a high school teacher was arrested on a variety of charges.

Channel 2 Action Newshas learned Raquel Eleana Spencer, who taught at Northwest Whitfield High School, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student and having heroin on school campus.

Spencer was arrested and taken to the Whitfield County Correctional Center.

She’s been charged with possession of heroin and sexual assault by persons with supervisory or disciplinary authority.

Spencer’s arrest is the talk of the town in Tunnel Hill.

“Her doing heroin in school? Yeah, it’s terrible,” said parent Lisa Beavers.

No one from the school district would go on camera but a spokesman sent Channel 2’s Craig Lucie a statement saying the student and staff safety is their top priority.

The spokesman also told Lucie, Spencer has submitted her resignation.

“I never would have imagined a teacher out of all the people you know there’s so many students that go to Northwest and they depend on these teachers and they look up to ’em and it’s just sad,” said Katelin Jenkins, the parent of a student attending Northwest Whitfield High School.
