When it comes to criminals, some people have no patience and for good reason, as the majority of them are a detriment to society. Communities that have a lot of criminals are less likely to thrive, which really ruins it for those who dedicate their lives to being good members of society. Retired Massachusetts police officer, Chuck Jackson has no sympathy for criminals, which is why he put a sign on his house that said: “Never mind the dog, beware of owner.”
Jackson noticed a man dressed in black checking car doors on his street early Sunday morning and when he asked him what he was doing, the suspect didn’t respond.
“I heard Chuck saying, ‘What are you doing here?’ and on the third time that’s when I went to the window to see what was going on,” neighbor Jonathan Rodrigues shared.
After Jackson confronted the suspect, Zackery Bailey, the two got into a fight and Jackson continued to ask Bailey why he was on his property. In the midst of the altercation, Jackson fired a handgun, proving that he was very serious about the sign that hung on his house.
Rodrigues described the situation…
“In a split second, one shot goes off and then Chuck falls back and the kid falls back and kind of runs. That’s when Chuck fires again,” he recalled. “Chuck had his badge out saying, ‘I’m an officer.’ “To just keep going further with it is just foolish.”
Later, police found Bailey with two gunshot wounds and arrested him on a separate warrant for breaking and entering.
“I’m glad he was able to protect himself,” Chris Deperrio told MassLive.com. “I’d like to hope it was a random thing and that he wasn’t targeted.”
Several commenters cheered the officer on…
“Way to go, Officer!! I reside in Nashville & there is a HUGE problem with “Young Thugs”! They steal cars, rob people blind & also commit Murder!! It’s totally out of control here, but my city is run by a bunch of LibTards, so Nothing will be done to fix this. That’s why I have Guns! Thank Goodness we have the right to defend ourselves!!”
“Retired or not, good shot officer.”
“I would have heeded a sign saying “Watchdog on duty” showing a Chihuahua. A sign with a person holding a gun would have made me leave the neighborhood.”
“I have that exact same sign posted next to the house door inside of my garage. Hope I never have to act on it like this guy did. Living in California I might face prison time for even thinking about it.”
“It is the only way we are going to slow down all these thieves. To protect ourselves and our property. We cannot let the thugs do what they want and get away with it. It’s just not right to let the criminals win.”
Hopefully, this incident helps stop other thieves before they attempt to commit a crime against someone or something. A less was certainly taught in this situation.
