An elderly Brooklyn woman who called the cops on her son during a quarrel was murdered by him after cops responded and left, authorities said Tuesday.

Marie Louis, 77, dialed 911 around 9:30 p.m. Monday after getting into a heated argument with her 36-year-old son Arnel Henry, sources told the Daily News.

Neighbors and building workers say Louis told the cops who came to her building on E. 7th St. near Ditmas Ave. in Kensington she felt threatened and wanted her son out of the house.

But police sources said Louis never indicated she was in danger and there was no accusation her son had done anything illegal.

About an hour later, cops responded to a 911 call from the victim’s other son, who said his mom had called him in New Jersey saying she was being attacked by his brother.

When cops returned to her apartment they found Louis dead in the dining room with stab wounds and severe head trauma, authorities said.

“(Henry) answered the door covered in blood,” a police source said.

Cops recovered a knife at the scene, the source said.

The drama began with Henry pacing in and out of the building earlier in the night, according to building workers. The doorman, weary of Henry’s antics, stopped opening the door for him, sending the troubled young man into a rage.

When he returned home and complained to his mom, she refused to take his side, police sources said, instead insisting he should apologize to the doorman — making her son more irate.

That’s when she called 911 for the first time. Police sources said when asked if her son had a weapon she told cops he had said something about using a knife to teach the doorman a lesson.

“They (told her,) ‘We can’t do anything because he could have a knife to cut some fruit,’” said the building’s super, Enrique Rodriguez.

Police body-cam footage shows that the cops dealt with the situation appropriately, a police source said.

“It wasn’t an arrestable offense,” the source said of the initial visit to the troubled home. “They mediated the dispute. He wasn’t acting irrationally.”

The building’s doorman, Fernando Munoz, said Louis came down to the lobby after cops left, growing more uncomfortable with her son’s behavior.

She told the doorman she saw her son sharpening a knife. She called her other son to tell him what was going on before heading back into the apartment.

“She said ‘I’m going to be fine, I’m going to feed the dog and clean my room,'” Munoz said. After Lous returned to her apartment, neighbor Donald Welch, 32, who lives above Louis, said he heard a loud bang and a scream.

“It was crazy — it sounded like a refrigerator falling over,” he said. “We never heard anything that loud in the building.”

Building workers said Louis struggled for years to deal with her son’s bizarre behavior and mental health issues. Sources said police were called to the apartment in November to calm an argument between Henry and his brother.

“(Louis has) been having problems with these kids for a long time,” said the super, who said he’s known the family since they moved in about two decades ago.

“This has been going on for years — but in the past three years it’s gotten worse,” Rodriguez added. “I told her you gotta put this kid in the hospital because one of these days he’s gonna kill you or someone else.”

Henry’s arraignment for murder was pending Tuesday while he receives a psychiatric evaluation at Maimonides Medical Center.
