FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) – A Florence DJ at the center of a human trafficking case communicated with teens through social media platforms, asked them to pass around his flyers, and paid them for sex, according to law enforcement reports obtained by WMBF News.

Jason Rogers Pope, also known as DJ Kidd, was arrested Aug. 29 and charged with three counts of trafficking in persons, three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and one count each of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, promoting prostitution of a minor and kidnapping.

He remains in jail under no bond.

Arrest warrants indicate between July 2017 and July 2019, Pope, 42, forced four minor girls to perform sex acts for money at a home on Lakeview Drive in Florence County.

In looking back at Pope’s run-ins with law enforcement, over a dozen reports from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office dating back to December 2011 name him as either a suspect or a victim.

As to the allegations surrounding him, the first such incident was reported on Dec. 4, 2011. In that FCSO report, a 13-year-old stated she had sex with Pope and then later found out he had AIDS.

California Rep. Katie Hill (D) denies affair with staffer and calls accusations of sexual impropriety a ‘smear’

A stunning photo of Democrat Rep. Katie Hill (CA) was revealed on Thursday that appeared to show that the freshman lawmaker has a “Nazi-era tattoo” on her waistline while she was naked, smoking a bong.

“Hill’s wild lifestyle has been laid bare in a cache of texts and intimate photographs obtained by, as sources revealed Hill and Helsep also posted her naked photos online under a thread called ‘WouldYouF**kMyWife’,” The Daily Mail reported.

“The picture also shows an iron cross tattoo on Hill’s pubic area, similar to the symbols formerly used by white supremacists referencing a World War II Nazi medal.”

The Anti-Defamation League reports that the Iron Cross is “a famous German military medal dating back to the 19th century. During the 1930s, the Nazi regime in Germany superimposed a swastika on the traditional medal, turning it into a Nazi symbol. After World War II, the medal was discontinued but neo-Nazis and other white supremacists subsequently adopted it as a hate symbol and it has been a commonly-used hate symbol ever since.”

“The mainstream media has a blackout on this story, which is amusing. The press typically loves politicians embroiled in sex scandals,” a top Congressional GOP source told The Daily Wire. “But the perpetrator is a Democrat in a swing district, so the press will pretend like there’s nothing to see here.”

The Daily Mail reports that there are more scandalous photos of Hill with the young female campaign staffer that she allegedly sexually involved with in a “throuple” relationship with her husband.

“But sources close to Hill and online posts reveal that this was not the first time she and her husband opened their marriage,” The Daily Mail added. “A former tenant of the estranged couple said Hill and Heslep, had a ‘sexual relationship’ with a 21-year-old woman in 2010, the same year they were married.”

“I can absolutely confirm stuff like this went on even back then,” Michael Pace told The Daily Mail. “I left the house after six months because of all the weird sexual stuff going on in the open. I walked in on the three of them in some very weird situations a few times so I know there was a sexual relationship going on.”

RedState’s Jennifer Van Laar has broken all of the bombshell stories on Hill, which gained significant national attention on Friday after she published a report alleging that Hill had sexual relationships with a campaign staffer and a congressional staffer, which is prohibited by congressional rules.

In text messages published by RedState, the campaign staffer allegedly wrote that she felt abused by Hill in their “toxic” relationship and that she was scared of Hill because she saw how poorly Hill treated her husband, Kenny Heslep.

“I am terrified of pushing back against you or upsetting you,” the campaign staffer allegedly wrote. “I have seen how you treat Kenny and I think that if I cause any issues, even if I am very worried about how you are acting, that very quickly you will decide you don’t want me in your life.”

On Wednesday, the House Ethics Committee revealed that it had opened up an investigation into Hill over allegations that she had an inappropriate sexual relationship with her congressional staffer.

Ted Deutch (D-FL), Chairman and Ranking Member of the Committee on Ethics, released the following statement late on Wednesday:

The Committee is aware of public allegations that Representative Katie Hill may have engaged in a sexual relationship with an individual on her congressional staff, in violation of House Rule XXIII, clause 18(a).  The Committee, pursuant to Committee Rule 18(a), has begun an investigation and will gather additional information regarding the allegations.

The Committee notes that the mere fact that it is investigating these allegations, and publicly disclosing its review, does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee.  No other public comment will be made on this matter except in accordance with Committee rules.

If there is an investigation in the House, investigators may also look into the claims involving a campaign staffer.

Hill has admitted that she had a relationship with a female staff member who worked on her election campaign, but said in her letter to constituents this week that the relationship was “inappropriate.”

“During the final tumultuous years of my abusive marriage, I became involved in a relationship with someone on my campaign,” Hill said in the letter to her constituents on Wednesday.

“I know that even a consensual relationship with a subordinate is inappropriate, but I still allowed it to happen despite my better judgment. For that I apologize. I wish nothing but the best for her and hope everyone respects her privacy in this difficult time,” she continued.

NO ONE IS SAFE Disease X outbreak that could ‘kill 80 million’ is ‘on the horizon’ – and scientists need help

AN outbreak of so-called Disease X is “on the horizon” and could kill 80 million, World Health Organisation (WHO) experts have warned.

Scientists are looking for vaccines that could combat the as-yet-unknown infectious diseases and unknown pathogens.

This graphic from a recent report shows global examples of emerging and re-emerging diseases

Last month, a panel led by the ex-chief of the WHO, released a stark report warning of the danger of a lethal respiratory pathogen, which they say could kill between 50 and 80 million people.

The 15 public health leaders criticised a “cycle of panic and neglect” which they say has characterised responses to health emergencies.

Funding for vaccines

Now, the Coalition of Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) said it was looking for funding applications for platforms capable of developing vaccines to combat the threat.

Richard Hatchett, CEO of the CEPI, said: “We can be sure that another epidemic is on the horizon. It is not a case of if, but when.

“We need to be prepared. We need to invest in platform technologies that can be used to quickly respond to the emergence of a pathogen with epidemic potential.

We can be sure that another epidemic is on the horizon. It is not a case of if, but when

Richard HatchettCEPI

“That’s why CEPI is boosting its funding for such platform technologies that can be used to make vaccines and other immunoprophylactics in a matter of weeks and months, instead of years, which is currently the case.”

The calls add to the £42 million ($54 million) the organisation has already committed on a guarding against the spread.

Since 1980, outbreaks of infectious diseases have increased from 1,000 to 3,000 in 2010.

Hatchett added: “Our criteria are broad, and the call is open for 12 months, in the hope that we’re able to attract the best and brightest ideas from around the world.

“If we succeed in this endeavour, we will be able to equip humanity with the tools to combat Disease X and create a world in which epidemics are no longer a threat.”

In 2018, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified Disease X as more deadly than Ebola and Lassa fever.

According to a recent report by the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board, such a pandemic could wipe out between 50 and 80 million people, as well as five percent of the global economy.

The report added that as the world has become increasingly interconnected, such a pathogen could spread around the globe within 36 to 50 hours.

While some governments and agencies have made efforts to prepare for disease outbreaks since the devastating 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak in West Africa that left over 10,000 dead, those efforts are “grossly insufficient,” the report said.

In the case of a pandemic, many national health systems – particularly in poor countries – would collapse.

The WHO also warned earlier this year that another pandemic of flu – which is caused by airborne viruses – is inevitable, and said the world should prepare for it.

The Global Preparedness Monitoring Board’s report cited the 1918 “Spanish flu” pandemic, which killed an estimated 50 million people.

Studies have shown most of the fatalities were among those under the age of 65.

The virus is thought to have used the body’s own immune system to work against it.

This caused fatal “cytokine storms” in victims – an overproduction of immune cells that can overwhelm the body.

The stronger the immune system, the more devastating the effects of the Spanish Flu on an infected person.

If Disease X spawns from an influenza strain it could have a similarly devastating effect on younger populations.

Some governments have made efforts to prepare for disease outbreaks since the devastating 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak in West Africa

As many as 50 million people died worldwide as a result of the devastating Spanish Flu outbreak in 1918

The white British ISIS child executioner: Horrific propaganda video appears to show blue-eyed boy with jihadi fighter name ‘Abu Abdullah Al-Britani’ shooting a prisoner in the head in Syria

• Chilling video shows five young boys carrying out executions of prisoners with handguns

• One of the boys is identified as Abu Abdullah al-Britani, a nom de guerre popular with British jihadists

• He is white, blue-eyed, aged around 12 and appears to be fluent in Arabic and comfortable with firearms

A chilling new video from ISIS shows a British boy and four other children executing prisoners in cold blood in Syria.

The grotesque nine-minute video is believed to have been recorded recently in the ISIS capital of Raqqa, in Syria, and shows the organisation is becoming even more brutal as it retreats into its heartland.

The video shows five boys – believed to be from Britain, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Uzbekistan, wielding handguns and wearing the desert camouflage.

The British boy (second from the right) is identified as Abu Abdullah al-Britani

One of the youngsters makes a blood-curdling shriek in Arabic and slaps one of the terrified captives on his shaved head before they raise their guns and kill the five men, ‘atheist’ Kurdish fighters who were captured during a battle.

The Sun reported the British boy was identified only as Abu Abdullah al-Britani. He is white, blue-eyed and aged around 12.

Abu means ‘Son of’ in Arabic, which suggests the boy may be the son of Abdullah al-Britani, a young British jihadist who married in Syria and was killed in a drone strike.

The British boy (second from right, in camouflage) shows all the signs of being brainwashed

The Times says one of the boys says in Arabic: ‘No one can save the Kurds even with the support of America, France, Britain, Germany, the devils in hell.’

He then calls for the takbir and the other boys shout in unison – Allahu Akbar (God is Great) before raising their pistols to the sky and shooting the prisoners. Their bodies are later shown with bullet wounds to the head.

The children copy five older jihadists who execute prisoners in orange jumpsuits and butcher them with knives.

The age of criminal responsibility in Britain is 10 so if the boy was captured and sent back to Britain to face justice he could be prosecuted for murder.

The horrific video shows the boys, who are all aged around 12 or 13, executing prisoners with handguns

Dozens of British jihadists are believed to be fighting for ISIS in Syria and Iraq under the nom de guerre al-Britani, which simply means British in Arabic.

Last year Assad Uzzaman, 25, from Portsmouth, was killed in Syria while using the name al-Britani.

ISIS has been increasingly using child soldiers – known as the ‘Cubs of the Caliphate’ amid speculation it is running low on manpower as it retreats from positions in Syria and Iraq and falls back on its stronghold, around Raqqa.

The Quilliam Foundation reported this year that around 50 British children are ‘growing up on jihad’ and being groomed to become ISIS fighters.

The video shows the prisoners, wearing orange jumpsuits, kneeling on the ground and preparing for death (left). One of the boys then shouts out in Arabic a verse from the Koran before the hapless prisoners are killed

In January this year Isa Dare, a five-year-old British boy dubbed ‘Jihadi Junior’ featured in an ISIS video. He shouted: ‘We will kill the kuffar [non-believers]’ before ISIS fighters executed several prisoners. His mother, Grace Dare, from Lewisham, south east London, is believed to have taken him to join ISIS

Shrimp on Prozac commit suicide

Study finds that shrimp swimming in Prozac-contaminated water tend to swim toward the light, making them easier prey.

Throughout history, there have been far too many people who become suicidal because somebody called them a “shrimp.” Antidepressants can have the unfortunate and ironic side effect of causing suicidal tendencies. But real shrimp pitching themselves into the open mouth of a predator because they’re on Prozac?

It sounds too absurd to be true, but according to Salon, a recent study found that shrimp exposed to Prozac display suicidal behavior. As humans ingest and excrete untold amounts of pharmaceuticals, many of those drugs — including fluoexetine, Prozac’s main ingredient — end up in the water.

After ingesting Prozac, are legions of shrimp losing all hope and wishing to die? Not exactly. Study author Dr. Alex Ford is quick to note that shrimp aren’t people, but fluoexetine does have an effect upon the shrimps’ brains, making their nerves more sensitive to seratonin, the brain chemical responsible for moods and sleep patterns.

When exposed to the chemical, shrimp are five times more likely to swim toward bright areas of water instead of sticking to their usual dark, safe corners.

“This behavior makes them much more likely to be eaten by a predator, such as a fish or bird,” Ford told National Geographic.

Such reckless behavior in shrimp isn’t the only way Prozac and other antidepressant medications can affect wildlife. The study authors note that drugs cause unusual behavior in many other species as well.

The consequences of pharmaceuticals in wastewater are only now being explored, and the issue extends beyond the improper dumping of unused medication. Since many drugs are not entirely metabolized by our bodies, drugs get into our wastewater.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has called the issue “a growing concern” and has begun testing for many drugs at water treatment plants around the nation.

Two gay black servicemen brutally beaten in nightclub for twerking and acting ‘too gay’

Two American members of the US Air Force were attacked by a group of men at the Opera night club in Zadar on Saturday night.

According to local media in Zadar, the motive for the attack was “that the men had been acting gay”, a conjecture witnesses apparently based on the fact that they were seen “twerking”. The victims are also black and it is unclear if the attack was also racially motivated. Police are investigating, but both Americans have left the country.

Zadar police confirmed that one of the man was treated at Zadar hospital for minor injuries, but decline further comment pending the outcome of the investigation. However, they are treating the incident as a disruption of public order, a misdemeanor offense, rather than a hate crime.

“The two men, ages 24 and 25, were taken to Zadar Hospital, where one was treated for his injuries. The investigation was expected to continue this morning, but both individuals have left Croatia and revealed details of the incident to the media after the fact,” said Ivana Grbin, spokesperson for Zadar County Police.

She added that the men were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack and that officers working on the case are in contact with the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb.

One of the victims posted on social media, “Last night, we experienced one of the worst moments in our lives. A group of eight to ten Croatian men attacked us at the club. I have never felt so helpless in my life.”

The U.S. Embassy issued a statement on Monday saying it condemns the incident.

“The U.S. Embassy Zagreb has seen today’s news reports and condemns the recent violent attacks on two American tourists in Zadar. The welfare and safety of U.S. citizens abroad is one of the highest priorities of the Department of State,” the Embassy said in a tweet, adding that they are unable to comment further on the case.

Pijerino Bebić, the co-owner of the club where the incident took place, said that the Americans had been in the club the night before and that there had been no issues. When the fight broke out, security intervened and the police were called, he said.

“It is in no way a reflection of the club Opera, Zadar or Croatia, as a tourism destination,” he said condemning the attack.

Menstrual cycles are for everyone? ‘Always’ removes female symbol from sanitary pads following trans activists’ complaints

Women’s products maker Always is at the center of a fresh feminist v transgender skirmish, after caving in to trans activists’ outrage and removing the ‘discriminatory’ Venus symbol from its packaging.

The company will drop the universally recognized symbol from December, following an onslaught of tweets insisting that women aren’t the only ones who menstruate.

The decision may have appeased a handful of PC keyboard activists, but it has apparently enraged the bulk of the company’s customer base – women, that is.

Feminist campaigner Julie Bindel told the Mail on Sunday that the move is akin to “denying the existence” of women.

“We’re now moving towards the total elimination of women’s biology. The women’s symbol has been used by feminists for decades. This is pure cowardice and virtue signaling from these big corporate brands who are capitulating to the trans agenda,” she added.

The rush to acquiesce to PC crusaders has led to commentators – even some who identify as trans – to argue that the extreme activism is harming, rather than helping, the trans community.

Tupac Shakur’ arrested in Tennessee on meth, assault charges

Tupac A. Shakur was arrested October 19, 2019.

Police in Tennessee arrested a man named Tupac A. Shakur, 40, after they say he pulled a knife on them and was found with methamphetamine.

Officers with the Johnson City Police Department, about 25 minutes from Bristol, received calls Friday about Shakur, who had active warrants for his arrest from another department, according to a news release from Johnson City police.

When officers arrived, they saw a car with Shakur inside. Officers attempted to arrest Shakur, but he pulled away and reached for his waistband, the release said.

Shakur then turned toward officers with a knife before officers took him down. Officers found a syringe and baggies of meth on Shakur, the release said.

Shakur was charged with aggravated assault, simple meth possession and having unlawful drug paraphernalia. He is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $18,000 bond. He is set to be arraigned Monday afternoon, the release said.

It was not clear Sunday whether Shakur has legal representation.

Shakur shares the same name, even the same middle initial, as the late rapper Tupac Shakur, who was killed in September 1996 at age 25.

After Death You’re Aware that You’ve Died, Scientist Say

Death just became even more scary: scientists say people are aware they’re dead because their consciousness continues to work after the body has stopped showing signs of life. That means that, theoretically, someone may even hear their own death being announced by medics.

The claim was made by Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City.

He and his team are looking at people who suffered cardiac arrest, technically died, but were later revived. It’s the largest study of its type ever carried out. Some of those studied say they had awareness of full conversations and seeing things that were going on around them, even after they were pronounced dead.

These accounts were then verified by the medical and nursing staff who were present at the time. Death is defined as the point at which the heart no longer beats, and blood flow to the brain is cut off.

Dr Sam Parnia said:

“Technically, that’s how you get the time of death – it’s all based on the moment when the heart stops. Once that happens, blood no longer circulates to the brain, which means brain function halts almost instantaneously. You lose all your brain stem reflexes – your gag reflex, your pupil reflex, all that is gone.”

However, there’s evidence to suggest that there’s a burst of brain energy as someone dies. In 2013 researchers at the University of Michigan looked at the electrical signals inside the brains of nine anaesthetised rats having an induced heart attack. They saw activity patterns which are linked to a “hyper-alerted state” in the brief period after clinical death.

Dr Parnia said:

“In the same way that a group of researchers might be studying the qualitative nature of the human experience of ‘love’, for instance, we’re trying to understand the exact features that people experience when they go through death, because we understand that this is going to reflect the universal experience we’re all going to have when we die.”

Elijah Cummings ‘signed subpoenas from his hospital bed’ for Trump impeachment before his death

Elijah Cummings was kept busy to the very end of his life leading an investigation into Donald Trump before passing away at the age of 68 on Wednesday, his aides have said.

The chairman of the House Oversight Committee was signing subpoenas from his hospital bed, one aide told the New York Times.

He also helped lead a Democratic caucus conference call.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described Mr Cummings as a “north star” who spoke with “unsurpassed clarity and moral integrity” on the House floor.

Ms Pelosi, who grew up in the city Mr Cummings represented, said he was her “brother in Baltimore” during a press conference on Thursday, adding: “We’ve all lost a friend … I’m devastated by the loss.”

Despite not having participated in a roll call vote since September, the late congressman was continuing to spearhead the oversight committee’s impeachment inquiry into Mr Trump along with two other House committees handling the investigation.

He has sparred with Mr Trump since the president took office, condemning the humanitarian crisis on the US-Mexico border during a fiery speech and decrying his attempts to ban residents of Muslim-majority nations from entering the country as “unconstitutional” and “un-American”.

Mr Trump consistently attacked Mr Cummings online, calling the congressman a “racist” then describing his majority-black district as a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess” in which “no human being” would wish to live.

Mr Cummings served 12-terms representing the 7th District of Maryland, which includes parts of Baltimore.

The president tweeted his “warmest condolences” to Mr Cummings’ family and friends, writing: “I got to see first hand the strength, passion and wisdom of this highly respected political leader.”

He added: “His work and voice on so many fronts will be very hard, if not impossible, to replace!”

The House announced its intentions to continue the impeachment inquiry against Mr Trump in the wake of Mr Cummings’ passing.

News of his death came as Gordon Sondland, the ambassador to the European Union, testified on Capitol Hill.

He turned on Mr Trump in a rare rebuke from a sitting ambassador and admitted he was “disappointed” by the president’s decision to have his Ukraine agenda go through his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani.
